Renal Centre

Ansell and Bailey were commissioned to design the new West London Renal Centre at Hammersmith Hospital from inception to completion.

 

The floor area of the building is 9000m², accommodating wards for 170 beds, including isolation rooms, an ITU, Haemodialysis unit, and assessment facilities.

Ward Refurbishment

A redundant, outdated ward was transformed to create a bright, fresh environment for the benefit of both patients and staff.

Originally featuring predominantly 4 bed bays, having partial screening which provided very little privacy, these were replaced with 3 bed bays with en-suite bathrooms, each incorporating level access showers, and new aluminium screens, with doors, incorporating integral Venetian blinds, allowing discreet viewing of the patients by staff, whilst also affording the patient greatly enhanced privacy and dignity.

Ravenscourt Park Hospital

Ravenscourt Park Hospital was originally built as The Royal Masonic Hospital and is listed as a fine example of 1930’s modern architecture. 

 

The brief was to refurbish the accommodation to provide 106 beds, 6 “ultra clean” operating theatres and a physiotherapy department within the confines of the existing structure.

 

In 2008 Ansell & Bailey secured planning permission for a major redevelopment of the site as a specialised private care unit.  The scheme included a radiotherapy department below the garden and reflecting pool as well as upgrading and remodelling the existing accommodation.

Winter Pressure Wards

Client:  Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust

Various fast paced phased works to increase winter bed pressure capacity were designed, procured and built to a very tight timetable in various live environments. The Stoke Ward depicted was an old decommissioned ward being used as office space which Ansell and Bailey redesigned to improve flow, patient experience and HBN / HTM compliance. Logan construction completed the project in less than 9 weeks. The client was delighted with the outcome.

Day and Stay Unit

Client:  Charing Cross Hospital NHS Trust

Project Value:  £ 1.5m

The Riverside Wing of Charing Cross Hospital was refurbished to provide facilities for 34 patients receiving day surgery. The accommodation includes 2 and 4 bed bay spaces, single rooms and private recovery bays.

 

The project was undertaken in two phases with the in-patient areas forming phase 1 and the new theatres taking place in phase 2. The whole area was subsequently linked to the main hospital operating theatres.

 

The project included replacement windows and the installation of a Brise Soleil to the south facing elevation of the building.
