23 Hour Assessment unit and Emergency Department
Client: Royal free Hospital , London

The project is one of two contracts within an existing live Emergency department. Contract 1 was a phased refurbishment and extension to create a new Urgent care centre, security and staff facilities, assessment clinic and independent Paediatric Emergency department. Contract 2 (still to commence) will create a new Rapid Assessment and Treatment facility (RAT), Adult’s Emergency department with dedicated isolation and mental health rooms, emergency imaging centre with 6 bed resus unit and an adjoining 32 bed assessment ward.
The works have been undertaken through numerous complex construction phases, all while the current Emergency department has been fully operational.
